Saturday, September 21st from 8:30-11:30 am
Embark on a hands-on journey of discovery as we delve into the Montessori program at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School. From Orientation to Middle Years, step into each classroom as an incoming student and gain a profound understanding of our unique approach to learning. You’ll begin by observing the carefully curated environments, taking in the array of materials available at each level. Then, you’ll have the opportunity to engage directly with these materials, exploring how they contribute to the holistic educational experience we offer. After completing your journey, we’ll gather to debrief, share reflections, and discuss insights.
Childcare will be provided for currently enrolled St. Stephen’s students, so you can fully immerse yourself in this enlightening experience. To ensure childcare, please RSVP to lnewchurch@ssesh.org by September 13th.
Carpool Safety Reminders
We want to remind all families of the importance of following our carpool procedures to ensure the safety of our students and keep the carpool line running smoothly.
- Morning Drop-off: Please remain in your car for the entire drop-off process, and make sure your child is ready to exit the vehicle quickly upon arrival. This helps us keep the line moving efficiently for everyone.
- Afternoon Pick-up: In the afternoons, it’s important to stay in your vehicle until your child is brought to you. If you prefer to walk up to retrieve your child, you are welcome to park in either of our parking lots and walk to meet them. This option helps prevent congestion in the pick-up line.
- Montessori Houses Drop-offs: For those dropping off at the Montessori Houses, please ensure that you are not blocking the parking lot exit. Additionally, do not stop in the middle of the line to drop off your child. Instead, proceed all the way to the end of the carpool line, where teachers will be ready to meet your child.
By following these procedures, you are helping to keep our students safe and allowing carpool to run smoothly for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and for making safety a priority!
6th Graders Leading the Way in Lunchtime Leadership
Our 6th graders are taking on an exciting leadership role during lunchtime by participating in a new Upper Elementary tradition! Once a month, they plan, prep, cook, and serve a special meal to share with their Upper Elementary peers. This hands-on experience allows them to develop important life skills in the kitchen while also fostering teamwork and collaboration.
During these shared meals, students come together to enjoy food and conversation, helping to strengthen friendships within the Upper Elementary community. To encourage meaningful dialogue, conversation starters are provided at each table, sparking fun and thoughtful exchanges among the students.
This new tradition not only helps our 6th graders develop leadership and practical skills but also creates a deeper sense of connection and community. We’re excited to see how this initiative will continue to grow and evolve in the months ahead, further enriching the Upper Elementary experience for all.

Bulldog Compliments
At St. Stephen’s, we have an easy way for anyone in the St. Stephen’s community to show their appreciation for a faculty, staff, or leadership team member. We call it sending a “Bulldog Compliment.”
Here is how it works. Click the Send A Bulldog Compliment image and follow the prompts. It only takes a few clicks, and you are done.
All compliments are anonymous and will be sent to the person (or persons) you choose to recognize. There is no limit to how many you can send, so be as generous as you wish!
