Middle Years Adventure at Mo-Ranch: Building Bonds and Exploring Nature

Last week, our Middle Years students had the privilege of participating in the cherished tradition of bonding at Mo-Ranch, a stunning retreat nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. This experience was about more than just adventure; it was an opportunity for students to grow together as a community.

The trip challenged students in significant ways, from tackling complex group problems during low ropes activities to conquering personal fears by leaping from telephone poles and rappelling down bridges 75 feet high. These physical feats tested their resilience and determination, pushing them beyond their comfort zones.

Beyond the challenges, the trip also fostered deep connections. Students swam in the Guadalupe River, hiked through the breathtaking landscape, and shared stories and laughter around campfires with s’mores in hand. The spirit of camaraderie was evident in friendly chess games, lively ping pong competitions, and the shared moments that transformed individual 7th and 8th graders into a unified Middle Years community.

This annual trip is more than just a getaway; it’s a vital part of our curriculum designed to foster teamwork, leadership, and a deep connection to nature. As they return to campus, the memories and lessons from Mo-Ranch will continue to resonate, shaping their interactions and contributions throughout the school year. We’re incredibly proud of our students for their resilience, enthusiasm, and the camaraderie they displayed during this trip. Mo-Ranch has once again proven to be a cornerstone experience for our Middle Years program, and we look forward to seeing the growth that will emerge from this shared adventure.

Here is how it works. Click the Send A Bulldog Compliment image and follow the prompts. It only takes a few clicks, and you are done.

All compliments are anonymous and will be sent to the person (or persons) you choose to recognize. There is no limit to how many you can send, so be as generous as you wish!
