Holiday Giving

Dear SSESH Community,

At this time of year, we recognize the people in our lives who make a difference, and it is natural that we respond with gratitude by giving gifts. At St. Stephen’s, we create relationships of meaning that knit us together in community.

This year, there are TWO ways to give to our dedicated faculty and staff.

A direct gift valued at $50 or less. The first way to give is via a direct gift to any faculty and staff member using the guidance in our Family Handbook. This policy states, “School employees may not accept an individual gift from a single family/parent, student, or any other person connected to the school that is valued at more than $50. Cash is specifically prohibited.”

A gift to the SSESH Holiday Giving Fund by December 17th at noon. The second way to show your gratitude is via a donation to the SSESH Holiday Giving Fund. All monies donated to this fund will be divided equally among lead teachers, teacher assistants, specialist teachers, support staff, and the maintenance/cleaning crew. Contributions to the SSESH Holiday Giving Fund are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Gift receipts will be available upon request. Give to the SSESH Holiday Giving Fund by clicking here.

On behalf of the faculty and staff of St. Stephen’s, thank you for making spirits bright this holiday season.

With gratitude,

Dr. Troy Roddy, Head of School

St. Stephen’s invites all families to the chapel celebration of Las Posadas on December 22, 2023. “Las Posadas” is Spanish for “The Inns” and is a Latin American tradition of music-filled worship and immersive storytelling that follows the Holy Family as they go from place to place, looking for somewhere to rest and to welcome the Christ child into the world.

This tradition invites us to explore sacred story and mystery through diverse languages, dance, and art as a whole community. From our youngest students to our oldest guests, we all become part of the story together. Like any good festival day in spiritual life, there’s a special energy in the room – from the live mariachi band to the brightly colored pinatas.  Mark your calendars now to be a part of this joyful Chapel which is the final blessing of the semester.

Students K through 8th grade who are interested in contributing an instrumental performance to Las Posadas can register here: https://ssesh.org/las-posadas-instrumental-performance-registration/

Celebrate the Holidays at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church

Support the Annual Fund!

Did you know that our Board of Trustees led the way before the October 16, 2023, launch of the Annual Fund with 100% participation? Hats off to our wonderful trustees!

On Grandparents & Special Friends Day (November 17, 2023) we were thrilled and so proud to announce that the St. Stephen’s Episcopal School Houston faculty and staff had also reached 100% participation. Congratulations to the amazing St. Stephen’s team!

Let’s keep the momentum going and ensure 100% participation across all categories.

Does your employer offer a matching gift program? Double your impact with a generous matching gift!

Thank you for supporting the Annual Fund and for sharing in St. Stephen’s vision of a kinder and smarter world.

Bulldog Compliments

At St. Stephen’s, we have an easy way for anyone in the St. Stephen’s community to show their appreciation for a faculty, staff, or leadership team member. We call it sending a “Bulldog Compliment.”

Here is how it works. Click the Send A Bulldog Compliment image and follow the prompts. It only takes a few clicks, and you are done.

All compliments are anonymous and will be sent to the person (or persons) you choose to recognize. There is no limit to how many you can send, so be as generous as you wish!
