What a wonderful first week of school! Across campus, classrooms are peaceful and purposeful, filled with busy children settling into their routines, reconnecting with friends, and diving into their work. Outside, the playground has been full of smiles, laughter, and lots of running. There is already such a joyful energy in the air, and we are so excited for all that this year will bring. It’s going to be a great one!

We’re excited for another year of amazing extracurricular activities offered right here on the SSESH campus! Bulldog 360 brings together supplemental learning, vibrant classes, and fun community building—all happening after school.

Monty Meals Are Back!
Our beloved Friday pizza fundraiser returns this school year, bringing happy kids, happy parents, and support for our campus all at once! Every Monty Meals purchase helps fund improvements to SSESH’s outdoor spaces, and last year’s proceeds contributed to many of the exciting updates families will see when they return to campus. Enjoy a Friday without packing lunch, treat your child to pizza, and help us see what we can accomplish together this year!
To ensure we have enough time to prepare each week’s orders, the ordering window will close each Tuesday at 9 am and will reopen on Friday at noon for the following week.
On Wednesday, August 19th, at 8:30 am, join us in the Nave for our first All-School Chapel of the year! This special Welcome Back Chapel, traditionally called Convocation in the Episcopal Church, brings our community together to celebrate the beginning of a new school year.
Bulldog 360 Enrichment Classes begin on Monday, August 24th. Information about timing and locations will be shared via email before classes begin. Questions? chughes@ssesh.org
Join us on Sunday, August 30, from 6:00–8:00 PM for an adults-only fiesta celebrating the launch of SSESH Forward!, our Annual Fund. Enjoy live music, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a fun evening connecting with fellow parents and friends on our newly renovated playground. RSVP HERE!
St. Stephen’s will be closed on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day. There will be no Bulldog 360 classes or extended care. Enjoy your long weekend!
Lower Elementary families are invited to a room parent-hosted playdate at Valhalla on the Rice University campus on Saturday, September 12, from 2:00–5:00 p.m.
It’s a great opportunity for students and families from all three Lower Elementary classrooms to spend time together, connect, and have some fun outside of school. An email invitation with additional details will be coming soon from your room parents.

Middle Years students and families are invited to a room parent-hosted hangout at Valhalla on the Rice University campus on Saturday, September 12, from 5:00–8:00 p.m.
It’s a great chance for Coho students to spend time together outside of school while giving their families an opportunity to connect and hang out, too. An email invitation with additional details will be coming soon from your room parents.

At St. Stephen’s, we have an easy way for anyone in the St. Stephen’s community to show their appreciation for a faculty, staff, or leadership team member. We call it sending a “Bulldog Compliment.”
