St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, Houston (SSESH) seeks a caring and compassionate School Nurse (Part Time) to work with students ages 15 months to 8th grade. Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program
  • Valid registered nurse license to practice professional nursing in Texas from the State Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Certified by Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening
  • Certified in first aid, automated external defibrillator (AED), and CPR, or willing to become so certified
  • Up to date on COVID-19 vaccinations, or willing to be vaccinated and boosted as recommended by the CDC
  • Completed Safeguarding God’s Children training, or willing to be so trained
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • A successful background check, including fingerprinting

Responsibilities

  • Administer to students and/or employees
    • first aid and minor medical treatment
    • prescribed and OTC medications
    • COVID-19 rapid tests
  • Maintain, review, and approve student health records submitted via the Magnus Healthcare portal
  • Maintain medical records and supplies 
  • Respond to medical emergencies and act as the Crisis Leader
  • Develop and enforce COVID-19 and other health protocols
  • Perform other nursing related duties as assigned
  • Communicate in a professional and timely manner with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders 
  • Assist with referrals to specialists and other services 
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy
  • Comply with SSESH policies and procedures
